The SNVEL is a French national organisation representing private veterinary practitioners. It promotes the interests of vets and the veterinary profession as a whole.

The brainchild of the SNVEL (Syndicat National des Vétérinaires d'Exercice Libéral - French national association for private veterinary practitioners), Le Chien + Zen initiative is a national information and awareness-raising programme designed to help humans and dogs live together in harmony.

Created in 1969, the AVEF (Association Vétérinaire Equine Française - French Equine Veterinary Association) brings together more than 450 vets focusing exclusively or partially on equine medicine or surgery.

The CNITV is a not-for-profit association. One of its missions is to operate a year-round 24-hour telephone hotline to respond to calls concerning cases of domestic or wild animal poisonings.

Depending on the caller’s profile (veterinary practitioner, private individual, agricultural body, etc.), the centre provides diagnostic or treatment assistance, an opinion concerning the prognosis, a risk assessment or more general information.

The International Association of Pet Cemeteries and Crematories is an international body responsible for ensuring that member facilities comply with its good practice charter.
